William Baldwin was born on 21 February 1963 in Massapequa, New York in America. He is the son of Carol Newcomb (nee Martineau) and Alexander Rae Baldwin, Jr., a social studies/history teacher and a football coach in a high school. He has He has three brothers; Daniel, Stephan and Alec, all of whom are known actors like him, and they are often called together as the Baldwin Brothers. All of them are Irish, English and French descents and were raised in a catholic family.
William graduated from the Berner High School and then joined the Binghamton University. He has a degree in political science from this university. He is known for his contributions towards the Binghamton’s wrestling team. His brothers were also the wrestlers in the high school and in college.
He is the husband of singer Chynna Phillips, whom he married in 1995. Chynna was the member of the group - Wilson Phillips. He lives in Santa Barbara, California, along with his wife and three children, daughter Jamison, son Vance Alexander and daughter Brooke.
William has done modeling before he started exploring the field of acting. He has acted in the film ‘Fair Game’ in 1985, a TV movie ‘The Preppie Murder‘ in 1989 and ‘Backdraft‘ in 1991. He has appeared in various roles for films and television, including his supporting role in ‘The Squid and the Whale’. Most recently, he appeared in the series ‘Dirty Sexy Money’.
He has also acted in ‘Internal Affairs’, ‘Three of Hearts’, ‘Sliver’, ‘Shattered Image’, ‘Flatliners’, ‘A Pyromaniac’s Love Story’, ‘Curdled’, ‘Virus’ and ‘Brotherhood of Murder’ during 1990s. In 2000, he appeared in ‘Primary Suspect’ and ‘Relative Values’. He acted in ‘Double Bang’, ‘One Eyed King’ and ‘Say Nothing’ in 2001 and in ‘You Stupid Man’ and ‘R.U.S./H.‘ in 2002.
