Peter Krause’s parents were teachers and he grew up in Roseville, excelling as a field and track athlete until a pole vaulting injury in high school spelled doom on his athletic ambitions.
He got hooked up to theater in Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota from where he graduated in 1987 and decided to take up acting as a profession for which he went up to New York University to take up post graduation in Fine Arts. And it was in New York City, when he was working as a bartender, he came across Aaron Sorkin, a writer.
Aaron Sorkin created the comedy series for ABC, Sports Night in which Krause enacted as Casey McCall from 1998-2000. Then from 2001-2006 he worked in the critically acclaimed series Six Feet Under, where he characterized the role of funeral director Nate Fisher. In the Sci Fi channel mini series, The Lost Room which came in December 2006, Krause bagged the lead role of Detective Joe Miller.
Currently he is occupied with Dirty Sexy Money, where he plays the role of Nick George, an idealistic lawyer who has been associated with the Darling Family as his father was their family attorney but finds himself in a fix when his father dies mysteriously.
Peter Krause has been nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe awards and he also won a Screen Actors Guild award. He presently resides in Los Angeles with his son Roman Krause and Amy and Michael, his siblings.
Some of his other famous appearances on television include Blood Harvest (1987), Carol & Company (1990) Double Edge, Seinfeld & Beverly Hills, 90210 (1992), If Not for you, The Great Defender (1995),Cybill (1996).
And in the movies - We Don’t Live Here Anymore (2004), The Truman Show (1998),Lovelife (1996),Melting Pot (1998) Jack and Addie (2009 – pre-production) and Civic Duty which he produced in 2004.
